Tia Kar, Mumbai

19-years old Tia Kar lives in Mumbai all by her self. Her father is a playback singer, while his mother is a professor in Kolkata University. Tia is a first year fashion designing and law student in Amity, Pune.

She developed interest in singing through her father. Though Tia hasn’t learnt music formally, she feels that she has the potential to learn more. Tia has grown up with her aunt in Kanpur since her father was mostly travelling while her mother was busy with her teaching.

Tia has participated in Indian Idol 5 to fulfil her father and uncle’s dream to see her as a successful singer. Her favourite singers are Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan. In fact, Tia takes Sunidhi as her idol and gets nervous while performing in front of her.
